The face behind the brand
The B L A K E Y brand was created by third year fashion design student Clare Blakey-Milner in preporation for her graduate collection. Growing up in Cape Town and having spent most of her childhood at the beach and camping with her family she has a great love for the outdoors and its relaxed lifestyle. Clare grew up around surfers and this is why she has based her graduate collection on the local surf scene and the lifestyle that surrounds it. She incorporates elements of ocean prints, natural fabrics and laid back styling to add to the brands aesthetic.

Why Blakey?
Clare has used a part of her last name as the name
and face of her brand, this is because she feels that
something as close to you, such as your creative
identity should be meaningful and come from a place
of inspiration, and for her, her family has always been
and always will be her biggest inspiration.
